WHAT DOES A SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDE?
The Scholarship is normally tenable for one year, but Scholars embarking on a two year Masters programme will get help in the second year.
Scholars admitted to PhD programmes will usually be offered funding from Harvard or MIT for the second year of study onwards.
The Scholarship pays for:
- Tuition and health insurance fees (which are paid by the Trust direct to Harvard or MIT).
- A stipend which will cover living costs - in 2008 this is $20,500.
- One return air fare from the UK to Boston and back.
- A travel grant of $2,000 to enable Scholars to do some travelling within the US at the end of the academic year.
